12/8/2023 0 Comments Anvil foundry 10.5 with pump![]() From the triple element low watt density dual voltage heaters for blazing fast heating speeds, to the unique high flow grain basket, you wont find a more powerful feature rich product. I’m also curious if it actually benefits the end result. The ANVIL Foundry is the most versatile all-in-one brewing system available. I started using this method because my goal was to get the mash out of the protein rest in a timely fashion before it negatively affects head retention. Curious if anyone here has experience and if the extra 100 for recirculating on is worth it or a gimmick. I’m not sure if there’s really any benefit to what I’m doing. I’ve been looking at electric kettles and found the Anvil Foundry. I use my 24″ whisk to stir the mash so the temperature is as uniform as possible throughout the mash. I also lower the power to 50 or 60% and the temp to the actual correct temp of that step so it stays at the correct temperature. When it gets there, I carefully lower the malt pipe back into place (takes about a minute or so for the liquid to infiltrate the malt pipe and the BrewBag). It’s surprising to me how long it takes to reach the temperature of the next step, but it makes sense. Soooo…When it’s time to move to the next step, I pull the malt pipe so it can drain and set the controller power to 100% and the temp to 4-5☏ above the next step. I started doing a pseudo infusion step mash last summer. So I decided to try something similar but different from tea bagging. Even the tea bagging method didn’t seem to cut it. I like step mashing, for now, but it’s difficult getting an even temperature throughout the mash when moving to the next step even if you open up the valve more during recirculation (I have a chugger with a valve instead of the Anvil pump system). Two days after the election (Thursday, November 5, 2020), we didn’t know who won the election, but at least my first all-in-one electric brewing system arrived on my porch. It swells around the connection because it's not ideal for handling boiling water and pressure.I have an Anvil Foundry 10.5 that I purchased the day before the Biden/Trump election. I put compression fittings + hose barbs on my chiller but still a little nervous about the vinyl. Yep, those chiller hoses are dangerous the way they come.second the motor switch comment and note about tightening the spigot every brew. It's just not necessary and doesn't stay after while have also moved the wayward cover gasket into storage.10.5 Gallon vessel size makes it perfect for 5 gallon homebrew batches. I think it would be nice to have it as a programmable option The most complete turnkey all-grain brewing system on the market for the best price. They are tiny enough that when you drop one, it will always end up in a crack between the wall and flooring Not really a pain, just hard to keep track of the small washers. I've been disassembling my pump after every brew to clean it. I like your cleaning method for the basket, kettle and pump.10.5 Gallon capacity for 5 Gallon Batches. No Need to Disassemble Entire Unit Use for Other Pumping Needs too. noticed you're using a brew bag - I ended up doing this as well by reccomendation from in another thread where my mash got stuck External Pump Wont Plug and is Easy to Clean.
